Reunion 2008

“Helping Children for Better Education”

Fellow Saints,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 16th Annual Convention of St. Patrick’s High School and St. Teresa’s Convent Alumni Association, Inc. The officers and members of SPHS & STC applaud the New England Saints for hosting this year’s convention.

Each year a convention is held to raise and sustain awareness among our friends and supporters, of the plight of the schools in post war Liberia and to generate funds to support on-going projects, as well as general operations. This year the convention is being held in the great city of Providence, Rhode Island with the theme “Helping Children for Better Education”.

As we deliberate, during this convention, let us resolve to make decisions that will impact the lives of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. For only then can we truly celebrate our successes. Certainly, there are many challenges we must face in our determination and effort to provide both financial and moral support to St. Teresa’s Convent. I can assure you that we will succeed if we remain focus and committed in our efforts to reopen St. Patrick’s High School.

Indeed, this is a special occasion in many respects. But most importantly, we are honored to have in our attendance the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Archdiocese of Monrovia, Monsignor Andrew Karnley, Vice Principal of St. Teresa’s Convent, Mrs. Massa Kamara Gwei ‘71 and Mr. John T. Monibah ’87 of St. Patrick’s High School Alumni Association, Monrovia. We are deeply honored to have them with us. We hope and expect to learn from their wisdom and experiences. Together, we will address the myriad of needs that we encounter among those we serve, as well as projects and programs.

I invite you to enjoy New England’s rich history, culture and natural beauty. Take time to appreciate your schoolmates, old and new friends.

Thank you for coming in support of a worthy cause. May the good Lord continue to bless the work of your hands.

May God be you safety every mile of the way.

I remain committed to helping the children.

Sincerely,
Anastasia Simmonds-Caphart ‘78’
