In the year 1992 Kpadi Williams, a 1972 graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Monrovia, Liberia, envisioned the idea of organizing former students of St. Patrick’s who were currently living in the USA to come together and provide moral and financial support for their alma mater.

Kpadi Williams set out to contact individuals whom he felt would be supportive of this idea.  Coincidentally, in that same year, the class of 1972 held a class reunion in Atlanta, Georgia during the Labor Day weekend.  At that time Kpadi Williams took advantage of the opportunity to share his ideas with members of the class and others who were in attendance.  The meeting took place at the home of Othello Brandy and thus the organization became a reality.  In conjunction with Williams, Joseph Bailey, Edmond Neblett, Nathaniel Denu, Chrispin Jones, Othello Brandy, Armah Karmo, Henrique Smith, and Marcus Roberts formed the core of the organization.  It was agreed upon that all future conventions would be held during the Memorial Day weekend.

The first Annual National Convention was held 1993 in Silver Spring, Maryland/Washington D.C.  At this meeting Mr. Kpadi Williams who was at that time Chairman of the Planning Committee was elected as the first President.  Other officers elected were Henry Clement - Vice President; John Gurley - Financial Secretary; Edmond Neblett - Treasurer; Henrique Smith - Secretary; and Armah Karmo - Chaplain. In attendance were some Brothers of the Holy Cross who were former faculty members at St. Patrick’s.  Those present were Brother Austin Maley - Former Principal/Basketball Coach; Brother Paul Clark - Former Principal; Brother James Kozak, Brother Dennis Van Germet, and Brother Roberts.  There were also several committees established and the constitution was ratified.

The second Annual National Convention was held 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia under the leadership of Joseph Bailey.  At this meeting the body agreed that the girls of St. Teresa’s Convent be incorporated into the organization.  The 3rd Annual National Convention was held 1995 in Chicago, Illinois under the new leadership of Mr. Chrispin Jones.  This was the first time the girls from St. Teresa’s Convent participated as joint members of the organization. On June 26, 2001 under the administration of Mrs. Irener Perry-Phillips the organization attained its non-profit 501 (C) (3) status.
